Ajay Goyal comes from a family of accomplished academics in India. His father, Professor Jai Bhagwan Goyal, a noted academician & author of 32 books, was awarded Padma Shri Award by the President of India for his remarkable contributions in the field of literature. His mother, Pushpa Goyal was a beloved teacher of Hindi language, a Ph.D. in literature. Growing up in a green university campus at the Sanskrit University of Kurukshetra, Ajay was surrounded by the world’s great literature and the wisdom of India’s eminent writers and thinkers.
Ajay’s journey into entrepreneurship began with academic excellence. He graduated with honors in Mechanical Engineering from the National Institute of Technology Kurukshetra in 1986 at age 20. During his school and college years, he gained recognition for his public speaking skills, winning several national debating competitions.
Soon after graduation Ajay worked two jobs, one as an engineer and the other as a quiz show host and youth programs anchor on Indian National TV, Doordarshan. He hosted over 100 television shows, often interviewing prominent literary and cultural figures from around the world.
Not content with the success of his TV show which offered a promising career path in India, Ajay’s curiosity to explore the world led him to migrate to Europe. With meagre resources Ajay dived into the tumult and transformation of Eastern Europe.
In a decade Ajay founded six ventures and returned to his passion for media and technology, creating a media venture in print and online mediums.
In 2005, Ajay shifted his focus to research, writing, and filmmaking. He established a foundation to help children from poor backgrounds obtain quality education and another dedicated to life lessons of Mahatma Gandhi.
Ajay’s commitment to positive change led him to run for the Indian Parliament in 2008. He ran a widely acclaimed campaign against corruption in public life, earning praise from all sections of society despite losing the election.
In 2012, Ajay created the first of its kind in Europe yoga and meditation themed sustainable holiday resort village called Zening on the mediterranean island of Cyprus.
Today, Ajay Goyal continues his journey as a forward-thinking entrepreneur, focusing on ForestSAT.space, a venture aimed at protecting the world’s forests from wildfires using satellite data and AI.
He divides his time between Oslo, Norway, and Limassol, Cyprus, and maintains a nomadic global citizen lifestyle, working remotely from various beautiful cities and nature reserves.
